While the Cat's away...

A few of you are away while I'm away in Bali (until June 2nd), and a few of you are going on holiday after I get back, but in the interim those who are staying put will need to keep your game going in my absence. Obviously it's easier to get up and go if you have a scheduled appointment that you attend regularly, but the fact I'm not here is no excuse not to make your regular appearance in the gym.

Look at this as a chance to see how much attention you've been paying since you started training. Remember the five basic planes of movement, front, back, up, down and twisting (arms AND legs) and add in a bit of good hard rowing, bike or treadmill and you're set.

Most importantly, keep following the basic principles of whole food eating. No desserts, no alcohol, plenty of fruits and vegetables and lots of clean protein.
Seems so simple doesn't it? Probably because, with the tiniest bit of self-discipline, it is.

Welcome to your new home(work).

Hello all!
A friend reminded me of the value of having a blog (vs repetitive emailing) this morning, so I thought now is a better time than later to get it started.
This blog may contain information, opinions, advice and for my clients, work. It may also contain inane ramblings or provide a forum to vent my spleen. What it will hopefully contain though (the truth is yet to be seen), is a modicum of useful knowledge that you can use to experiment with, pass on, ignore, learn from, digest and add to, regarding all things STRENGTH.
Strength is obviously more than just lifting heavy things. It's the strength to get up in the morning if you need to train before work. It's the strength required to have an eating plan and stick to it through every work lunch, footy game and party and it's the strength to have the balls to look 10, 20 or 30 years down the track and admit that the path you're on might not get you that far.
So, while I'm here bringing my homework talk all up in your face; here's some homework.
1. Once in the next week, do something you don't want to do or that seems hard, physically. If you can't be bothered walking to the shops...run. If you can't be bothered cooking and feel like getting take away...do it anyway. Easy.
That's it for the first post. Take that one thing on board for the week, and I'll see everyone next week.
Like Lance Armstrong says: Livestrong.
Cheers, Beau.
